Australian brand Modibodi is doing the work to make its apparel more inclusive with the introduction of the Adaptive range. Designed to sit comfortably and snuggly on the hip, the Adaptive underwear has easy side openings that make getting changed a little easier.
The Adaptive Boyleg ($29) is made from soft bamboo, features Modibodi’s trusted leaf-proof lining and includes a hook and loop tape fastening as well as elastic hoops that make it easier to grasp when getting changed. The Detachable Bikini ($28) has the same handy opening, allowing you to get changed while standing, sitting or lying down.
Offering protection from period and pee leaks, the Adaptive undies were created to align style, comfort and function. Australian model, disability advocate and Modibodi ambassador, Emily J Prior, put the new range to the test before the launch and the feedback is glowing, to say the least.
“Sometimes buttons, hooks and zippers can be tricky when you have a disability,” Prior said. “So, when I got my hands on Modibodi’s new adaptive period underwear I was so excited.
“The velcro closures and loop pulls on either side, make it easy for someone to put on or take off their underwear whether they are standing, sitting, (in a wheelchair) or laying down. Being independent and maintaining a level of privacy and dignity is really important for me. These adaptive period pants are awesome!”
To use the Adaptive Boyleg, unlock each side and slide out, rinse in cold water and follow up with a cold water machine wash. Pop on the line to dry and then you’re good to pop them back on. These undies are designed to hold three to four tampons worth and can be used for heavy periods or discharge or well as light to moderate bladder leaks.
