We never really thought we’d use the phrase “spicy doughnut,” but alas, here we are. As part of its Halloween range, Dunkin’ Donuts recently unveiled a clever, new Spicy Ghost Pepper Donut. The limited-edition menu item consists of a classic doughnut topped with red sugar and a strawberry icing that features a hint of cayenne and ghost pepper, which, if you’ve watched enough episodes of Hot Ones, you’ll know is one of the hottest chili peppers out there.
“Halloween looks a little different this year, and so do our donuts,” Marketing Strategy VP Jill Nelson said in a press release. “While our classic bakery offering has plenty of crave-worthy treats, we’re excited to show our spicy side with a donut that packs a touch of heat with something sweet and can be enjoyed any time of day.” Think you’ll give this spicy snack a shot?
