In honour of the late, great Betty White, a host of streamers are joining forces to live-stream the tabletop RPG Lewd Grannies. Donations received during the stream will benefit the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA) in honour of White’s deep love for dogs.
White passed away on December 31 after starring in TV shows and movies for more than eight decades. She starred in The Mary Tyler Moore Show, hosted her own talk show, The Betty White Show, and starred alongside Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds in The Proposal, but her most well-known role was that of Rose Nylund in The Golden Girls.
The critically acclaimed show about four older women who share a home in Miami ran for seven seasons and still streams on Disney+. The show follows Rose, Dorothy (Beatrice Arthur), Blanche (Rue McClanahan) and Sophia (Estelle Getty) as they get up to all sorts of mischief, which is where Lewd Grannies comes in.
The tabletop RPG is a comedy roleplaying game where you play as a wild grandma trying to indulge your vices at a wedding — maybe you’re flirting with a young, attractive would-be lover, drinking your weight in booze or going on a drug drip.
“Tonight, you are looking to have a great evening,” writes the game’s creator Joel Salda. “However, all of your relatives are concerned that you might break a hip. They don’t know the life still left in you and you look to show these hip young things a trick or two.”
The game will be run by Bee Zelda, a fellow tabletop RPG creator, and played by Gina DeVivo, Mo Nuncio, Saige Ryan and Omar Najam. Tune into the the Pixel Circus Twitch channel on Tuesday, January 18 at 1pm to pay tribute to Betty White with some raunchy granny mayhem.
