The Edgerunners Update for Cyberpunk 2077 has landed, and it’s brought a heap of exciting new content to the game. In addition to new gigs, weapons and photo mode options, the update added in-game content for Netflix’s Cyberpunk: Edgerunners and gifted us with a teaser trailer for the first Cyberpunk 2077 expansion, Phantom Liberty.
You can read the full patch notes here, but there’s a lot, so we’ve rounded up the biggest and most exciting announcements in the Cyberpunk 2077 Edgerunners Update for you in one easy place.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty Trailer
Almost two years after the game was released, it’s finally getting its first expansion. Titled Phantom Liberty, the expansion will be a spy-thriller story set in an all-new district of Night City. We don’t know much about the story yet, but the teaser trailer shows V swearing an oath to serve the New United States of America, which is a twist we didn’t see coming.
We also know that Keanu Reeves will be back as Johnny Silverhand, which we’re particularly thrilled about!
The trailer also shows a very interesting character at the 30-second mark — the way she’s shimmering with red light makes her look like a digital construct, similar to Johnny. Does V get another person crammed in her head in the expansion? We’ll have to wait to find out, but this seems like they’ll be pretty important to the story.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty is coming in 2023 to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Transmog Is Finally Here
Finally, you don’t have to choose between style and substance! With Cyberpunk‘s transmog system now here, you can alter the appearance of any piece of clothing while keeping its stats. If you have a jacket that gives you a powerful buff, but you hate the way it looks, you can simply alter its appearance to a style you prefer.
Transmog will be available once you’ve progressed far enough through the game to get V’s first apartment, and you’ll have to own a piece of clothing for it to show up here.
Additionally, you can now create and easily switch between six different outfits for maximum style and self-expression.
Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Content
This is all “secret content”, so it’s not listed in the patch notes, but we’re getting new equipment, most likely including the yellow jacket shown in the Edgerunners trailer, and new Photo Mode options.
Take Pictures of Your Cat In Photo Mode
Perhaps the most important update is the fact that you can now fill up V’s camera roll with cat pictures. If you choose to adopt Nibbles the cat, you’ll now be able to take photos of her in Photo Mode by going to the “Character” section of the “Pose” tab.
