The long-awaited sequel to Wii Sports is almost here! The Nintendo Switch Sports release date is April 29 and pre-orders are available now for the digital and physical copy of the game.
In Nintendo Switch Sports, you’ll play a collection of sporty mini-games either solo or with up to four players. Here are all the sports that have been confirmed so far:
- Tennis: rally by gently swinging the Joy-Con controller at the right time in singles or doubles games
- Bowling: roll the ball straight ahead or give it a little curve and play on new, obstacle-filled special lanes
- Chambara: test your swordplay skills to knock your opponent off the platform while attacking and defending
- Soccer: rule the field by making dynamic kicks and diving headers and challenge friends to 4v4 matches or 1v1 duels
- Badminton: swing left and right while keeping the shuttlecock in the air and unleash powerful smash shots to gain the upper hand
- Volleyball: use a Joy-Con controller to serve, bump, set and spike the ball.
A free update for Nintendo Switch Sports will come out shortly after launch and let you use a Joy-Con controller and the Leg Strap accessory at the same time in soccer matches. A second free update, planned for spring 2022, will add Golf as a new sport to the game.
You can also customise your Nintendo Switch Sports character and change their face, skin tone, hair, outfit and more to make them stand out in local and online co-op games. It looks like the true Wii Sports sequel fans have been wanting for years, so it’s understandable if you want to pre-order it or buy it on launch day.
