PlayStation Plus has revealed its December lineup of games, and there are some gems in here. Below, we’ve rounded up all the new PlayStation Plus games, including the PS VR titles that are joining the service this month. There’s a good selection in here no matter what kind of game you enjoy, and these freebies should carry you across to the big Christmas sales.
Lego DC Super-Villains
One of the biggest titles being added to the service, this PS4 game lets you create your own DC supervillain. Unleash mischievous antics as you play through an action-packed story where the Justice League have disappeared and it’s up to you and a crazy group of misfits to uncover the intentions of Earth’s new, strange, wannabe superheroes. Your original character will be joined by iconic DC supervillains like Harley Quinn and the Joker.
Godfall: Challenger Edition
The Challenger Edition adds new end-game content to the looter-slasher on PS4 and PS5. There are three new game modes: Lightbringer, a horde mode; Dreamstone, which lets you relive Odin’s memories and play through randomised encounters; and Ascended Tower of Trials, which challenges you to defeat a gruelling series of bosses as you climb to the top of the tower.
Mortal Shell
Mortal Shell has been described as a more focused and elegant Dark Souls. The combat is as challenging as you’d expect from that comparison, but there are no side quests to distract you from the story. It’s the perfect game for time-poor players who don’t want to sacrifice a great experience. It’s available on PS4 on PlayStation Plus in December.
There are also three bonus PlayStation VR games to add to your library this month, including The Persistance, The Walking Dead: Saints and Sinners and Until You Fall.
The new PlayStation Plus games will be available from December 7 until January 3 and are free to play for subscribers — if you’re not already a member, you can sign up for PlayStation Plus for a small monthly fee.
