We finally have our first proper look at the new Harry Potter game, Hogwarts Legacy, and it seems like it’ll be well worth the wait. The official gameplay trailer shows 14 minutes of the RPG captured on the PS5, including wizard duels, spellcasting combat, flying broomsticks, potions class and more. But despite seeing so much of the game in action, fans have been left with lots of questions about what it’ll be like to play when it finally releases later this year, with the most common question being: will Hogwarts Legacy have multiplayer?
After releasing the gameplay trailer, Avalanche Software shared some extra details on their website. We’ve combed through their site to answer every question we have about Hogwarts Legacy for you. Here’s what we know.
Will Hogwarts Legacy Have Multiplayer?
Unfortunately, Hogwarts Legacy is a single-player game only and won’t include online or co-op gameplay. Say goodbye to attending Charms class with your friends. People online are sharing their disappointment at the news, with some even saying that a multiplayer feature would make Hogwarts Legacy their dream game.
On the plus side, this means Avalanche Software can dedicate itself to creating a solid single-player campaign. “The story has players experiencing life as a student at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry like never before, as they live the unwritten and embark on a dangerous journey to uncover a hidden truth of the wizarding world,” writes Avalanche Software. “Hogwarts Legacy is filled with immersive magic, putting players at the centre of their adventure to become the witch or wizard they choose to be. They will grow their character’s abilities by mastering powerful spells, brewing potions, and harvesting magical plants as they face off against deadly enemies. Players will also encounter missions and scenarios that will pose difficult choices and determine what they stand for.”
It also means your Hogwarts experience won’t be spoiled by strangers who love griefing other players in online games.
