Perfectly timed with thousands of Australians currently in lockdown, with more time — and for some, disposable income — on their hands to invest in their physical health, Allbirds has launched its first activewear line.
Known for its comfy and sustainable trainers — in particular, its wool runners, which count Hilary Duff, Mila Kunis and Blake Lively as fans — the brand has now adopted its earth-friendly ethos to its Natural Run Apparel line.
While most activewear in the market is made from 100 percent oil-based synthetic fabric, the new mens’ and womens’ athletic wear collection uses cutting-edge material innovations (think eucalyptus tree fibre and merino wool) to create the most sustainable, natural and, importantly when it comes to athletic wear, breathable products it can.
Launched this week, the new Allbirds range includes shorts, leggings and tanks, available in sizes XS to XXXL and in colours black, aubergine, light grey and dark grey. The womens’ tanks come in two styles — the tight-fitting Natural Run Form Tank can be worn with matching coloured leggings and the Natural Run Tank uses mesh fabric for a loose fit.
Meanwhile, the Natural Run shorts are lightweight with a hint of stretch and come with front and back pockets, while the Natural Legging has a supportive waistband, pocket and are made from compressive (read: flattering), buttery soft fabric.
