Disney is known for its storytelling abilities, and now that storytelling has crossed over to your at-home assistant, Alexa! Disney and Amazon have recently partnered, so story time can be any time of the day when you say, “Alexa, open Disney stories.” This new function brings up to 54 different stories right into your home to be read aloud.
Kids will love being able to hear some of their favorite stories from Disney and Pixar being read out loud, along with music and sound effects they might recognize from the films. Currently there are four stories that are free for all Amazon Alexa users: The Lion King: A Day Without Pumbaa, Monsters, Inc.: Boo on the Loose, Disney Princess: Cinderella’s Best Ever Creations, and Pop Star Minnie.

For a limited time, you can purchase and additional 50 stories for $1 (normally $10). Stories in the additional bundle include titles like Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Coco, Doc McStuffins: Leilani’s Luau, Moana, Ratatouille, and Toy Story. Older kids will enjoy being able to pick out their favorite stories on their own, while smaller children will love hearing stories about their favorite Disney Junior characters.
Note that kids cannot access the Alexa Skill without a parent or guardian’s permission. Adults can do this through their Amazon Prime account on a computer or smart phone and simply clicking the enable button on the Disney Stories page. Once that’s complete, all of your Alexa enabled devices will be able to tell a Disney story!
