Serena Williams Signed Olympia Up For Tennis Lessons but Didn't Tell the Instructor Who She Was
Just like her mama, 3-year-old Olympia Ohanian is hitting the court with a racket in hand, ready to take on the tennis world. On her Instagram Stories on Friday, Serena shared a clip announcing that she’d signed Olympia up for her first round of tennis lessons with one catch: she didn’t tell the instructor who she was. “I signed Olympia up for tennis lessons,” Serena said. “Don’t start with me because I’m not giving her tennis lessons, but I signed her up for some . . . But the lady has no idea that it’s my daughter, so we’ll see how that goes.”
Ahead of the lesson, Serena also showed off Olympia’s adorable new tennis racket, which matches her own, and shared a clip of the two of them watching tennis matches. When it came time to drop Olympia off, Serena made sure to wear her “tennis mom” outfit, and I can only imagine what the instructor’s face must have looked like when she realized that her new student’s mom is a tennis icon. “So she’s at her tennis lesson, but I’m gonna leave so I’m not distracting,” Serena said. “I know how to leave. I’m not, like, an overprotective mom, no matter what Alexis says . . . I’m not a pushy mom, but I know how I like technique. So I’ll make sure she’s good at teaching Olympia some techniques.”
