Prepare to head on down to Sesame Street because Elmo and his friends are hosting a virtual play date featuring three famous faces that truly make me want to tune in (and I’m well past my elementary school days). A part of the show’s new Caring For Each Other initiative, Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate is a half-hour special set to air on April 14 and will feature Lin-Manuel Miranda, Anne Hathaway, and Tracee Ellis Ross.
Since children are being encouraged to stay home and avoid interacting with friends to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the special will offer kids of all ages an opportunity to learn together online, come up with fun activities to do at home, sing, play games, take dance breaks, and more. Anne will even join in for a round of “Head, Shoulders, Knees, and Toes!” A part of the special will also be dedicated to honoring EMTs, doctors, and medical professionals who are working diligently to fight coronavirus.

“We hope Sesame Street: Elmo’s Playdate will entertain and inspire families at a moment when so many are feeling isolated and overwhelmed by current events,” said Steve Youngwood, Sesame Workshop’s president, according to People. To catch the special yourself, tune into HBO, Cartoon Network, Boomerang, TBS, TNT, truTV, or PBS Kids at 7 p.m. ET on April 14.
