More than one in five Australians have been forced to improvise on period products, using toilet paper, socks, or other alternatives, to manage their periods because they couldn’t afford pads or tampons.
What is Period Poverty?
Period poverty is the inability to access or purchase sanitary products. While it's often considered taboo, period poverty is quite common, and can lead to shame, mental and physical health issues, and in young people, missing school.
We've partnered with charity Share the Dignity, to help end period poverty in Australia. Best known for its annual #ItsInTheBag campaign that runs every November, and advocacy work to axe the period tax in 2018, you can support the cause below.
